I have not posted anything here for quite a while because (1) I am working on something else - testing an oxy hydrogen generator to boost fuel efficiency on our 2006 Dodge Sprinter cargo van and (2) there is not much I can post about. Yes, I do find something interesting concerning internet marketing here and there but nothing excites me until today.

When we tried to join MonaVie, three times we had problem using their website - we filled out the enrollment form and paid for the autoship, but got stuck at the last step. None of our sponsors knew why. Odd enough, we did not get any email notification about the problems. Then by accident we found that we could solve all the enrollment problems by login to the virtual office - no one told us that

I’ve been reading a lot about the Web 2.0 in general lately, including it’s history and all of it’s uses…
In a nutshell, it stands for the second phase of the internet evolution which allows ordinary users - everyone out there - to add contents to the internet. It is also referred as Social Networking, Social Bookmarking, etc.
There is VAST potential out there that we are not using yet!
For instance, there is a very famous Marketer by the name of Seth Godin who pretty much pioneered Web 2.0, and he went on to found Squidoo.
One of the fundamental thoughts driving Web 2.0 is a quote of his: “Everyone is an Expert.”
It basically means that if someone is talking about the subject of what you ate for lunch today, YOU are the expert in that field.
Keywords out there are dedicated to you, 24/7/365. You’re the go-to person on several such subjects that could be searched in google for at any time!
(Scary, huh?)
I realize that it may be hard to think of this simple mindset for being responsible for all of Web 2.0, including the many big sites like YouTube, Squidoo, MySpace, Facebook, and Digg, but that is exactly what drives them and allows them to be profitable.
We already had a system in place to spread the biggest news out there. It’s called the Press and their AP newswire.
Web 2.0 makes YOU the new press and it is in fact cutting into a HUGE chunk of the profession’s profits…
Nearly half of America, for instance, reads Digg.com daily, so therefore isn’t turning on the Channel 4 news as much!
(TV Advertising rates have been dropping ever since Web 2.0 was created!)

One of the things I admire about Neil Shearing (who started and still operates ScamFreeZone ebiz) is that he doesn’t just take other people’s word for things. He does his own marketing experiments to see what REALLY works.
The results are really surprising sometimes.
Quite by accident, Neil discovered a way to get a totally new website… (1) Hit by multiple search engine spiders on its first day; (2) receive traffic from Google on its third day and (3) earn cash from an affiliate sale on its 10th day.
He did this without spending a cent on advertising, without creating an email list, without creating a product, and without any promotion from any of his existing lists or websites.
The site was launched on January 30. In February, it generated $3,851 in affiliate sales - that’s sales, not commissions.
What’s more, Neil can build sites like this fast - it takes him less than an hour.
Building one of these sites is simple, once you have the script (a WordPress plugin) that Neil’s programmers created for him, and a carefully chosen datafeed. As you probably already know, WordPress is a delight to use and that is my easiest way of building websites.
How many of the gurus’ rules has Neil broken here? Let’s see…
- The so-called Sandbox which new websites are supposed to go into doesn’t exist as far as this site is concerned.
- Duplicate content rules don’t seem to matter much here.
- The “You need lots of links” rule doesn’t apply to this site - Neil had only one backlink. Yep, ONE.
The nice thing about using vendor’s datafeed is that, his WordPress blog automatically updates with new contents being added and old updated whenever his vendor updates the datafeed with added products (description, picture, price, etc.) - no need to manually post anyting!
How long will this technique work? I don’t know. My guess is that Neil’s report will be incredibly popular and, as we all know, once many people start using a marketing technique it often becomes less effective. So you’ll inevitably need to get more links to these simple sites and eventually do things to make them more unique.
In the meantime, Neil has stumbled on a VERY interesting opportunity. Those who move fast will receive the most benefits. The really good news is that you don’t need a heap of expensive stuff to do this.

Update: It is indeed easy in setting up the website and using the datafeeds with Neil’s CSV Data Feed plugin for WordPress. This is my Gift Time Info website that I implemented Neil’s technique on. This is a completely new website - I registered its domain on the evening of March 12, 2008 and set up the website with WordPress and built it with Neil data feed plugin by setting it to post every hour.
