Blogs – it seems like just about everyone has one.
If you don’t know what a blog is, it comes from the phrase “web log”, which is an online diary or journal of sorts. People have all kinds of reasons for starting a blog. They may do it for fun, because they love writing or just to have an outlet to express their thoughts, vent frustrations and more.
But you can make a blog into a money-making business, even if you have no blogging or business experience.
How to Get Started
You can actually start your blog completely for free. There are services like Blogger.com and WordPress.com that make it super easy. But note, John Yeo, profitable blog and creator of the Blogger’s Paycheck recommends that those seeking profit should use WordPress, but in a different way than that is explained at WordPress.com and he goes through it in detail in the course. Since I was introduced to Ubuntu – desktop edition of the Linux operating system – I have become a fan. I use it all the time and everyday! Once I fully get used to it, I can fully depend upon it for all my daily work – checking email, surfing, posting forum entries, building or editing my websites, etc. Basically there is nothing I cannot do with Ubuntu for things I did in the past with Windows.
However, I do find I need to use Windows occasionally for the following reasons…
- When I want to check the websites I build in Ubuntu with the Firefox browser – I need to see how they look in Internet Explorer (IE) of Windows. Since IE is still the most used browser over the internet, I have to make sure my websites do not look ugly in IE.
- When I need to review a Windows software program.
- When I need to use the BlackBerry Device Software (only available for Windows) to syn with my BlackBerry Pearl – I can view/add/delete pictures, videos and audios to/on my BlackBerry without any problem – I just have difficulty synchronizing with it and adding mobile applicaitons to it.
- When I need to use a Windows application that I purchased in the past – things you paid with your hard-earned money are hard to let go.
Beside above reasons, we do use Windows on daily basis at work as we use Simply Accounting which happens to be a Windows program we have to use for our business

Someone sent me an email message about Suzi Phillips “Five Day Rebel Money Maker” system – now after signing up to review the system I know it was simply a suggested copy of email she prepares for her affiliates. But anyway, that email made me click the link and check it out.

Jeff Johnson of Underground Training Lab has made WordPress SEO (search engine optimization) easier than his custom “hacked” version of WordPress. Instead of reverse engineering a fully optimized WordPress blog, his people have released an SEO plugin for WordPress that literally takes your hands and leads through a few simple steps to get the job done.
I installed the plugin on this blog and a few other WP blogs I maintain and it works pretty well. Here is a screen shot of showing how well this blog has been optimized using his WP plugin:
Before I used his plugin, this blog is less than 50% overall optimization – I forgot to capture a screen shot for that
His plugin leads you to install all necessary other WP plugins to make your WP blog fully search engine optimized and also secured. There is also a Tweak button to adjust some settings with just one mouse click.

I just picked up this cool tip from my good friend – Jo Han Mok, who’s truly a Master Wordsmith.
Apparently, certain words can be sneakily used in your copy to slowly and hypnotically influence your readers. If you google and read about the April Fool virus/worm, known as Win32/Conficker.A or Downadup or Kido, you will know that it is a ‘worm’ virus that exploits a gap in Microsoft Windows software. You will know that it has already affected approximately 11.4 million Windows computers. It may start to communicate with more computers via the Internet on April 1 this year. If you read carefully, you will notice that it mainly affect computer running Windows. You will read that this computer worm originally began wreaking havoc in Windows computers in October 2008. You will read also that Microsoft is offering $250,000 to anyone who can stop the Conficker worm.
