uQast is a better alternative to YouTube to allow you to upload videos, audios and other forms of digital files without the limit set by YouTube.
Today I found that someone has come up with a free plugin to allow bloggers to easily embed uQast videos in your WordPress blog simply by posting the uQast link directly by its own line or between the [ embed ] [ /embed ] codes:
Now we have got this plugin installed on this blog, we are doing a test using either of the following – in order to prevent WP from misinterpreting the codes, we have removed a few things in the following two line, hoping you know what we are talking about here:

You see, it is simpler than any of the YouTube plugins out there. You just post the uQast video link on one line by itself and then you are done – couldn’t be easier than that!
To install this plugin in your WordPress, just click the “Admin New” link in the Plugins section and then search for “uQast Video Embed WordPress oEmbed Plugin”. If you find a good video on uQast, you just copy the link and paste it in your blog under the “HTML” mode.
The dimensions of the player are not set in any of the above two lines, so that explains why the video in our demo is bigger than this main content area. I am sure the plugin author will fine tune it to make it work better.

Did you know that Brad Fallon’s new video, audio and digital file hosting service’s Founding Affiliate program did not go well on the first scheduled day?

If you have any videos, audios or files in large sizes online, you’re probably using Amazon’s S3 service to host these files. And with good reason. It’s fast, reliable and secure.
Plus, at first, it seems pretty cheap too. Until you start having a LOT of files hosted and streaming online – for example, lots of people watching your videos. That’s when you realize Amazon S3 is NOT the affordable solution you thought it was – in fact, byte for byte it’s one of the most expensive storage solutions online!
It’s true. Read this excerpt:
I just did the math on what using S3 instead of my current business class shared hosting plan would cost me for one of my audio streaming sites.
I have around 10-15GBs of data which gets rotated regularly, so nothing is kept around for longer than around two months. With the amount of traffic I get, around 70GBs per month, and the number hits I get, I still pay less for my business class shared hosting plan than I would pay for S3.
And I also have full shell access and scriptability.
To top it off my plan actually covers 1TB traffic a month, so my site could scale up to 12 times traffic-wise before I would need to upgrade my account. At that cross-over point Amazon S3 would still be 54% more expensive than my current solution.
This might not apply to everyone, but in my case getting S3 would be plain dumb.

The big boys of the internet say they like affiliates but… if you’re a serious affiliate marketer, you know that’s lip service.
Proof? If you send someone to Amazon from your list or site, you get 4% of any sale…but only during that ‘session’ or that visit. If the person you referred to Amazon leaves but comes back the next day and buys 12 books for their book club, you’ll get nothing… and like it!

I found out I could not access one of my WordPress blogs at http://h2ofire.com/h2now because of the following errors:
Warning: require(/home/user/public_html/wp-includes/compat.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/user/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 246
Googled around for fix but could not find one, rather, found out that quite a lot of websites having this very same problem. It turned out my server data center had removed the WordPress database user (the database itself not touched) and also the wp-includes folder got removed, probably when the server was under some sort of attack.
To solve the problem, I simply did a manual WordPress upgrade and the now everything is working OK now.
